It has clarified that it does not endorse or maintain a specific list of foreign medical institutions for MBBS or equivalent courses.
If you are an Indian student considering studying MBBS in Moldova, it is important to directly verify the accreditation and recognition of the medical university or institution with the relevant Moldovan authorities. This includes confirming the accreditation status, curriculum, clinical training opportunities, and other relevant information directly from the university or institution itself.
It is crucial to note that the eligibility criteria for practicing medicine in India are determined by the NMC and Indian medical graduates may need to fulfill specific requirements, such as passing the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE), to obtain a license to practice in India.
FMGE After MBBS from Moldova to Practice in India
Upon completing their MBBS degree in Moldova, Indian medical graduates must fulfill a crucial requirement to practice medicine in India: passing the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE). The FMGE, conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE), assesses graduates' medical knowledge and skills acquired abroad. It ensures that they possess the necessary competence to provide safe and effective healthcare in India.
Eligibility for the FMGE entails meeting specific criteria established by the National Medical Commission, including obtaining a recognized primary medical qualification (MBBS or equivalent) from a foreign medical institution and completing the prescribed course duration. The exam consists of two parts covering basic medical sciences and clinical sciences, with graduates needing to achieve the minimum qualifying marks in each part.
Recognizing the importance of the FMGE, Indian medical graduates from Moldova should appreciate its role in demonstrating their readiness to practice medicine in India. Qualifying this exam provides reassurance to the MCI and the Indian healthcare system, affirming graduates' knowledge and competence to deliver quality healthcare services.
